After only a day’s break, the BG Göttingen is challenged again in the basketball Bundesliga. Head coach Roel Moors’ team did not have much time to enjoy the sovereign victory against Würzburg on Sunday. She competes on Tuesday evening (7 p.m.) in the Weißenfels town hall against the Syntainics MBC, who cannot yet feel safe when it comes to staying in class.

The Weißenfelsers, who opened the 27th matchday last Friday, had more time to regenerate – and that with a big surprise. The MBC prevailed in the Hakro Merlins Crailsheim, who have now safely qualified for the playoffs, with 82:77. Before the game against Crailsheim, the “Wolves” had presented a well-known new addition: Djordje Pantelic, who this season went to basketball for MBC cooperation partner BSW Sixers in the 2nd basketball league ProB, was placed in the top division by MBC head coach Silvano Poropat -Cadre appointed.

The Central Germans now have eight foreign players for six free places. Most recently, Deron Washington had to sit out, and Anthony Barber should make way for 36-year-old Serb Pantelic against Crailsheim. Michal Michalak is always set. The 27-year-old Pole is not only the best MBC point collector, but also surpasses all other players in the BBL. The Guard scores an average of 20.8 points per game with a three-way hit rate of a good 40 percent. In addition, he brings after Kyndahl Hill (5.3 rebounds per game), the second most rebounding balls (4.2). Against Crailsheim, Michalak had another creamy day, scored 31 points, hit all eleven free throws and also served his teammates (3 assists).

Like so many teams, the Veilchen Michalak did not get under control in the first leg. The Pole scored 23 points, but was not the only MBC player who hurt the Moors team in the 85:93 defeat: development player Roko Rogic scored 20 points, followed by Shavon Coleman (19), who had since left. On average, builder Rogic scores 10.8 points per game, ahead of him are US guard Quinton Hooker (12.8) and Serbian center Aleksandar Marelja (12.7), who was absent in the first leg due to an injury. Hooker is the best assists on his team (5.2 assists per game).
