The consultation between the management and the trade unions of Brussels Airlines did not yield any results on Wednesday. The airline has communicated this. The strike action by the Christian union will continue on Thursday.
The stewards and stewardesses at Brussels Airlines started a strike action on Wednesday, which could last up to three days. The strike is an initiative of the Christian trade union (ACV Puls and CNE). The airline’s cabin crew have been dissatisfied with pay and workload for some time.
The management and unions sat around the table all day on Wednesday for consultations, but they were unable to reach an agreement. According to the company, “a very substantial proposal was on the table”. The management regrets that there has been no agreement and that the strike action will continue on Thursday.
Brussels Airlines had previously announced that flights would have to be canceled on Thursday. “We expect that approximately seven in ten flights can be operated,” it said. “We apologize to the affected passengers and will do everything we can to rebook them and get them to their final destination as quickly as possible.”
