It was an announcement that had caused great debate a few months ago: Whatsapp will impose new general conditions of use, in particular by forcing users to accept the sharing of certain personal data with its parent company Facebook.
The announcement caused a scandal, especially since Whatsapp indicated in the process that users who did not validate the T & Cs would then see their account deleted.

The implementation of the new T & Cs had been postponed to May 15, as was the threat of deletion of accounts. Finally, Whatsapp returns to the last measure and does not intend to cut further in a herd which has already been largely reduced following the announcement. We have thus seen a number of users leaving Whatsapp for other messaging services such as Signal in particular.
Accounts that have not validated the new T & Cs on May 15 may therefore take a breath: Whatsapp specifies that no deletion is planned, and that the limitation of services mentioned for a time will not take place either.
Finally, there will be no interest in validating the T & Cs before May 15th. Still, the new features of Whatsapp may not be accessible to recalcitrant users in the future.
