Monterrey.- The fires that are active in New Lion, in addition to affecting the air quality of the entity, the contamination they have also worsened the air quality in Texas, United States.

In different areas of the Texas border with Mexico, a moderate concentration of PM2.5 particles can be observed.

In Eagle Pass, Laredo, it marks 73 points of concentration of this pollutant, in World Trade Bridge 55 points, in Mission, Haringen, an area that is closer to Tamaulipas, there is a concentration of 78 points of PM2.5 particles.

The Citizen Observatory of Air Quality of the Monterrey Metropolitan Area, indicated that the entire region of Texas is being environmentally affected by smoke from the forest fires of New Lion and those found in both central and southern Mexico.

However, the contamination in that state of the neighboring country, it is lower than that currently in the metropolitan area.

The environmental station with the highest concentration of contamination presents is that of Escobedo with 120 ugr / m3 of PM10 particles.

With these levels of contamination It is recommended that the sensitive population such as children, elderly adults or people with respiratory or cardiovascular disease do not do outdoor activities.

In addition to Escobedo, the San Bernabé, Universidad, San Nicolás, Apodaca, Obispado, La Pastora, Juárez, Cadereyta, Pueblo Serena, San Pedro, Santa Catarina and García stations are colored orange, that is, poor quality.

The only station that presents regular quality is the one found in the municipality of Pesquería.

In recent days, air quality has been affected by the fires that have occurred in the state, but especially the one that is still active in the Sierra de Santiago, which also affected Coahuila, a neighboring state of New Lion.
