This Monday in Osaka, the NJPW Power Struggle 2024 show took place. A show with the program including the final of the Super Junior Tag League tournament and a world heavyweight championship match between Zack Saber Jr. and Shingo Takagi in the main event. Main event which will be the scene of a surprise return.
BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Gabe Kidd, Clark Connors, Drilla Moloney, Robbie X and Taiji Ishimori) defeated Intergalactic Jet Setters (Kevin Knight and Kushida), Katsuya Murashima, Paris De Silva and Jude London by pinfall with a piledriver from Kidd on Murashima, after all the members of the BC carried their finisher on him.
Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, Yota Tsuji, BUSHI and Hiromu Takahashi) beat Dragon Dia, Ryusuke Taguchi, Tomoaki Honma and Toru Yano by submission with a Boston Crab from Takahashi on Honma.
House of Torture (EVIL and Ren Narita) defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi and Boltin Oleg by pinfall with a roll up from Narita on Oleg while EVIL had Tanahashi blocked in the ropes.
The House of Torture continues to attack their opponents after the match. Jado tried to save them, but in vain. Ryohei Oiwa and Jeff Cobb then challenged Narita for the NJPW TV Championship before a brawl between the three broke out.
Shota Umino a battu SANADA by falling with the Death Rider.
United Empire (Great-O-Khan and HENARE) defeated TMDK (Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste) by pinfall with an Imperial Drop on Nicholls to win the IWGP Tag Team Championships.
Kenny Omega appeared as announced, and confirmed his upcoming return to the ring. He plans to be present on the Wrestle Dynasty card to represent AEW against “a young wrestler from NJPW”. We learned a little later in the evening that he and Gabe Kidd had an altercation backstage.
TMDK (Robbie Eagles and Kosei Fujita) played Catch 22 (TJP and Francesco Akira) by pinfall with an Eagles roll up on TJP to win the final of the 2024 Super Junior Tag League tournament.
The Intergalactic Jet Setters came to the ring to accept TMDK’s challenge at Wrestle Kingdom on January 4, Catch 22 returned to the ring while Clark Connors and Drilla Moloney came to attack everyone and their interest was made known, them too, for the team titles.

DOUKI a comes Master Wato by submission with his DOUKI-Chokie to retain his Junior Heavyweight Championship, leaving Wato unconscious in the ring.
El Desperado came after the match to the ring to challenge DOUKI for a Junior Heavyweight Championship match.
David Finlay beat Taichi by pinfall by hitting him in the back with a shillelagh. SANADA intervened in the match by removing the referee who was pinning Taichi’s Black Mephisto, before revealing that he was wearing a BULLET CLUB War Dogs t-shirt. Finlay thus retains his title of Global IWGP champion.
Zack Saber Jr. Shingo Takagi was beaten by pinfall with a Saber Driver to retain his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
After the match, Shota Umino came to the ring to challenge Zack Saber Jr., who accepted the match. But Umino is not the only one interested: Ricochet made his return to New Japan, attacking ZSJ by surprise and also challenging the champion for a match at Wrestle Dynasty. Umino will take him out of the ring and grab the ZSJ title to pose with it.
