Nissan’s Exciting Electrified Future: 27 New Models by 2030

Japanese automaker Nissan will offer 27 new electrified models by 2030, 19 of which will be fully electric cars. For its edition Automotive News revealed by people who attended the Nissan dealer conference in Las Vegas. It is important to note that these figures apply not only to the Nissan brand itself, but also to Infiniti.

About 3,000 people attended the event and Nissan showed them at least three upcoming electric models. One of them was a coupe-crossover style car that will replace the Leaf. There was also talk of a high-performance electric sedan, as well as at least one more electric crossover that will use the current CMF-EV platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. The current Ariya, as well as the Renault Megane E-Tech, have already been built on it.

The new Leaf, or its replacement, will look like a “mini-Ariya” and offer about 25 percent more range per charge than it does now, according to a dealer representative who spoke on condition of anonymity, but those numbers are highly approximate and subject to change. Currently, the Leaf equipped with 60kWh can travel approximately 380-390 kilometers on a single charge in the WLTP cycle.

Like many other car manufacturers, Nissan is also trying to develop a new generation of solid-state batteries, which, at least in theory, will provide faster charging speed, driving distance and other benefits. It is reported that the project has developed so far that a pilot project for their production will begin next year at the factory in Yokohama.
