Nissan will start selling new Pathfinder in Russia :: Autonews

Nissan has brought a large new generation Pathfinder crossover for tests in Moscow. Photos of the car, which were taken on the Ryazan highway, were at the disposal of Autonews.ru. In the pictures, the car is still hidden under camouflage.

An Autonews.ru source in the market confirmed that Nissan will present a new Pathfinder for Russia in the near future. We are not talking about localizing production – Japanese SUVs will be imported to our market. The exact timing of the Russian debut of the car has not yet been reported.

At the moment, Nissan has yet to officially unveil the next-generation Pathfinder. World car premiere will take place February 4th. Whether the Russian modification of the car will differ in any way from the global version of the model is still unknown. The new Nissan Pathfinder is expected to share the platform with the Altima and Maxima.

According to unofficial data, the car can get a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The unit will work in conjunction with the variator. Most likely, the car will also have the current 3.5-liter gasoline engine. Some countries will also offer a hybrid version of the Pathfinder.

Previously, the Nissan Pathfinder for the Russian market was assembled at the company’s plant in St. Petersburg. The car was discontinued in the fall of 2016. After that, dealers sold off leftover cars from warehouses. The crossover was completely discontinued at the end of 2017.

According to the Association of European Businesses (AEB), Nissan sold in Russia in 2020 56 352 of their cars. This figure is 13% less than in 2019. Then the Russians purchased 64,974 cars of the Japanese brand. The Nissan lineup in our market now consists of four vehicles – X-Trail, Qashqai, Terrano and Murano.
