About 40,000 smartphones in Korea were hacked through a fake internet banking app, the National Intelligence Service announced on the 6th.
The NIS Cyber Security Center said that after inducing a hacker organization pretending to be a domestic financial institution to download a fake internet banking app, it stole call logs, text messages, and stored documents from infected mobile phones. An official from the NIS said, “Some of the infected cell phones were intercepted.”
The NIS announced that it has updated the vaccine to prevent malicious code from spreading through domestic vaccine companies, and is working with the Korea Internet & Security Agency to prevent further damage.
