Nirvana is sued by a man whose photo appears on the cover of the album Nevermind

A significant American grand rock band, Nirvana, has been sued by a man whose childhood photo appears on the cover of the group’s album Nevermind, the BBC reports.

A photograph of a naked baby floating underwater on a string of dollar bills has now become the subject of controversy, and Spenser Elden, now 30, has decided to seek justice in court.

“It’s child pornography,” the Los Angeles-born man, who was four months old at the time the picture was taken, emphasizes in the materials filed with the court.

According to the court in the materials, his “true identity and name are forever linked to the commercial sexual exploitation he experienced as a minor, which was widespread and sold around the world from the time he was a child to the present day.”

Elden claims that his parents never gave written permission to use his photo on the album cover and they were not paid for using the photo.

The lawsuit also alleges that the Nirvana group promised to cover Elden’s genitals with a sticker, but the agreement was not honored.

He is seeking compensation of at least $ 150,000 from each of 15 defendants, including former members of the group, Dave Grol and Krist Novoselic, as well as Kurt Cobain’s estate manager, Cobne’s ex-wife, Courtney Bed, and photographer Kirk Weddle.

Representatives of Nirvana and the group’s record companies have not yet responded.
