The murder of the Grammy-nominated rapper shook the music industry in the United States in 2019. Now the killer – Hussle’s childhood friend – has been convicted.
On March 31, 2019, Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed in Los Angeles.
On Wednesday, the murderer Eric Holder (31) was sentenced to 6o years to life by the court in Los Angeles, according to the news agency Ap.
“For life” means that you can serve the rest of your life, if you are not released before probation.
Holder was also convicted of shooting and injuring two other people during the attack.
Holder and Hussle knew each other from growing up, both as members of the Rollin 60 gang, also known as the Crips.
Thousands of fans attended Hussle’s 2019 memorial service, which was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
During the ceremony, a letter from former President Barack Obama, who said he had been introduced to the rapper’s music through his daughters, was read out.
On the final day of the month-long trial with Eric Holder on the dock, a final testimony came from Hussle’s close friend Herman “Cowboy” Douglas.
– Nipsey was my friend, he was like a son, he was like a father, Douglas said, according to the report Ap.
Actress Lauren London, Hussle’s girlfriend with whom he has a two-year-old son, did not attend the trial at any point.
