SAN ANTONIO, Texas. – Fiesta San Antonio’s famous “A Night in Old San Antonio” will look different from years before when it returns to La Villita this June.

Running June 22-25, Fiesta will introduce visitors to a cashless, contactless payment system with the BlastPass wristband, meaning you won’t have to wait in line to purchase food or drink tickets. .

Additionally, due to the most recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, guests and volunteers who have been fully vaccinated will not be required to cover their faces. Those who have not been vaccinated are asked to wear a mask.

Upon arrival, NIOSA staff will not ask for proof of a coronavirus vaccine. “In light of the recent CDC announcement that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask, NIOSA will not require one,” said NIOSA President and Conservation Society Vice President Terry Schoenert.

Tickets for each night will be sold in advance online to limit the crowd. Party-goers are required to show their e-ticket purchase code, either over the phone or in print, at the front door and it will be scanned. Tickets can be purchased here. Paper tickets will not be sold for entry into locations around San Antonio.

Guests will need to purchase the BlastPass wristband to pay for food, beverages and other items.

Guests can add money to their account online or at an on-site BlastPass station.
“BlastPass stores credits on the wristband for an easy checkout process that is a convenient and more secure way to pay for items, without the need for paper coupons that can be easily lost,” NIOSA said in a statement.

While children will be able to enter the NIOSA grounds, there will be no face painting or games for children.

NIOSA’s design will look different, including the new locations for Frontier Town and Haymarket, where Maria’s Tortillas is located.

NIOSA will continue to have 14 cultural areas, more than 150 food, beverage and live entertainment booths this year. The event will run from 5: 30-10: 30 pm each night.

Fiesta San Antonio runs June 17-21 and will include traditional events like Fiesta Fiesta, Texas Cavaliers River Parade, and Ford Mariachi Festival.

However, those that will not take place are the parades of the Battle of the Flowers and the Flambeau Festival.
