Apart from a friendly match won against Paris FC last week, Niort has not played a single game since December 21, 2022. The Chamois will return to an official match on Friday on the lawn of Caen to play the late match of the 20th day of League 2. The program promises to be very busy for the club with 6 matches to be played between January 28 and February 19. At a press conference, the coach, Sebastien Desabrespoke optimistically about this sudden change of pace.

« On the one hand, we can lack rhythm, on the other we can have this little freshness. The boys have been waiting for this for quite a while. On match sequences, it can be better in terms of rhythm. We won’t have the answer until tomorrow evening. In any case, we are waiting for this match, very motivated […] At this point in the season, we’ve been training for six months: we’re ready for a close series. Then there is the recovery phase to be done between the two: this is where you have to be good. But the players are able to follow this rhythm there. »
About Caen: It’s a great team with individuality and a new system, a little more cautious than in the first part of the season, especially in the Ajaccio match with a five-man defense. They won through their tactical discipline. We will need a lot, too. They will have to take risks to win. We like these types of teams. »
