It was on the initiative of the inhabitants and the social center that a rally was organized in Niort, in the Tour-Chabot district. The population wanted to pay tribute to little Marciano found dead in the Sèvre.
Since the discovery of the body of little Marciano in the Sèvre Niortaise on Friday April 14, the entire Tour-Chabot district and the city of Niort have been in shock. The 7-year-old child, suffering from autism, had escaped the supervision of a close family member on April 10. Intense research then began. After the neighborhood survey and the door to door, the rescue concentrated on the Sèvre Niortaise and after long days of anguish for the family, the child was finally found dead, in the water of the river. .
This Monday the inhabitants gathered silently to meditate in front of the social center. It was decided to do a march in tribute to Marciano on Wednesday April 19 at 6 p.m. It will start from Place Louis Jouvet to go to the edge of the Sèvre, where the body was found. According to the wishes of the organizers, people who wish to participate can dress in white or blue and if the town hall agrees, blue and white balloons will be released. A place of contemplation will be installed at the edge of the water and everyone can leave a word, a flower or a drawing there.
