Solid leader of L2, Toulouse had the opportunity to widen its lead by taking advantage of the draw of the second, AC Ajaccio, against Valenciennes (0-0). This meant winning at Niort on Monday, but the TFC wasted too much in the first half, when Quentin Braat notably repelled attempts by Desler (11th), Skyttä and Onaiwu (30th). The Niort goalkeeper was also saved by the crossbar on a new strike from Onaiwu (45th), before seeing his teammates surprise Toulouse after the break. It was first Ibrahim Sissoko who opened the scoring after a magnificent action (50th), before Zemzemi gave the Chamois a lead that seemed unimaginable in the first period (62nd).

Meanwhile, Braat had still been decisive (56th) but he ended up being beaten without being able to blame himself for much, because the shot in the top corner of Ratao was superb (76th). The Toulouse then continued to put pressure to equalize, without being able to avoid defeat, their second this season. They remain at the top of Ligue 2 but are only one point ahead of AC Ajaccio, and two over Sochaux.
