New York signed a ninth success in a row in the North American Basketball Championship (NBA) after a 129-131 victory over Boston won after two overtimes.
The Knicks were up to 14 points behind in the third quarter (77-63), but completely reversed the situation to lead 89-100 in the last quarter. It was then the Celtics who picked up the score and snatched the extensions. Two additional periods were necessary to decide between the two teams.
Immanuel Quickley (38 points), Julius Randle (31 points) and RJ Barrett (29 points) powered the scoreboard for the Knicks, fifth in the Eastern Conference with 39 wins and 27 losses. Phoenix won 126-130 in Dallas thanks to a solid performance from its new recruit Kevin Durant, author of 37 points and the decisive basket. Devin Booker added 36 points to allow the Suns to get rid of the Mavericks, where Luka Doncic (34 points) and Kyrie Irving (30 points) did not deserve. Phoenix (36 wins, 29 losses) is fourth, Dallas (33 wins, 32 losses) seventh.
The Lakers won 113-105 against Golden State, where Stephen Curry (27 points) was making his comeback after a month. Without LeBron James, injured, the Lakers could count on Anthony Davis (39 points). Golden State (34 wins, 31 losses) ranks fifth, the Lakers (31 wins, 34 losses) are in 11th place.
