Nintendo: Wii and DSi shops offline for maintenance – Gaming – News

Nintendo has responded to the unannounced taking the Wii and DSi stores offline. According to the company, the digital stores for the console and handheld have been taken offline for maintenance. Due to the taking offline, users will no longer be able to download products.

In a statement A Nintendo spokesperson informed Kotaku that maintenance is taking place at the Nintendo Wii and DSi shops. That would mean that the shops are not definitively offline. Furthermore, the company is not disclosing any details about what exactly will happen to the online stores. Nintendo just wants to say that more information will follow at a later date.

The shops were closed around March 16 without announcement taken offline by Nintendo. As a result, users can no longer download purchased products from the shops to their Wii or DSi. It was no longer possible to purchase new products, but it was still possible to download games and apps already purchased to the Wii and DSi.
