In Europe and the United States, you can get serious consequences for illegal downloading of games, movies and series from torrents. And it seems that Nintendo decided to fight pirates with more radical methods – the player under the nickname valky_w allegedly downloaded a pirated version of the latest The Legend of Zelda and after that received a letter where he was informed of copyright infringement.
So I got an email from Nintendo for a torrent version of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom. I will probably go to jail and be sued for a huge amount of money. Goodbye.
The email was sent from his ISP, Comcast Business, who apparently was forced to reveal the gamer’s IP address by Nintendo’s lawyers.
In the comments, “experienced pirates” who received similar letters earlier advised to use VPN next time when downloading.
But there are those who think that he is just lying to get attention:
