Nintendo unveils the new The Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom


Nintendo has released “Tears of the Kingdom”, the sequel to “The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild”.

According to the gaming industry on the 14th, Nintendo released information on a number of new games, including The Legend of Zelda, through the “Nintendo Direct” online event the night before.

At this event, Nintendo unveiled the trailer for “Tears of the Kingdom” (TOTK, Tears of the Kingdom), a new IP for “The Legend of Zelda” coming out on Nintendo Switch, and confirmed the release date for the May 12 next year.

TOTK is the sequel to Zelda’s 2017 legend “Breath of the Wild” (BOTW, Breath of the Wild).

BOTW, considered a reference game in the open world genre, was awarded “Game of the Year” by the American Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) and the Game Developers Conference (GDC) shortly after its release.

It was also selected as one of the “10 Best Video Games of the 2010s” by TIME magazine in the United States.

According to Nintendo’s announcement, BOTW has sold over 27 million copies worldwide since its release through the second half of this year.

In Korea, NCsoft CEO Kim Taek-jin is also famous for giving Nintendo Switch and BOTW games to all employees as he was impressed after playing BOTW.

At the previous day’s event, Nintendo also unveiled new trailers coming out, such as “Fire Emblem Engage”, “Bayonetta 3”, “Star Kirby Wii Deluxe” and “Xenoblade Chronicles 3” along with TOTK at the previous day event.
