Nintendo is set to hold a pre-launch livestream event for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Thursday, May 11. The event will be showcased on the newest Nintendo Treehouse: Live, featuring four segments that showcase gameplay footage of the highly anticipated game. The Treehouse event will be followed by the midnight launch of Tears of the Kingdom at the Nintendo NYC store. While Nintendo has not confirmed whether or not developers will be interviewed during the event, previous Treehouse events have included such opportunities. Fans of the series have high expectations for the sequel, given the critical and commercial success of its predecessor, Breath of the Wild. The game officially releases on May 12, but players who purchase the digital eShop copy will be able to play starting on May 11 at 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET on May 12.
