Revenue from sales of physical games in the United States increased by 8% during the month of April, a period that was accounted for until May 2 by the NPD Group.

Michael Pachter, the analyst of Wedbush Securities, revealed new and interesting numbers regarding the performance of each platform. It turns out that in April about 808,000 were sold in the United States Nintendo Switch, which doubles the estimated 400,000 units. In comparison, PlayStation 4 sold about half, 411,000 units, while Xbox One sold 329,000 units.

The status of the Switch as a must-have item among many consumers staying at home generated an excellent April figure that would have been significantly higher had it not been for widespread sales throughout the month. Switch led industry unit sales for the 17th consecutive month.
