Nintendo Switch breaks new sales record in the US • Gamingnation

While Sony and Microsoft are gearing up for the launch of their new consoles, Nintendo seems to be maintaining momentum with the Nintendo Switch right now.

US sales in August were announced, showing that $ 3.3 billion was spent on video games, hardware and accessories that month. Nintendo seems to be the biggest winner with, among other things, 10 games in the top 20 best-selling games.

Nintendo’s total sales were the highest ever in a month and thus exceeded the sales of August 2008 (at the time of the Wii). According to NPD analyst Mat Piscatella, twice as many Nintendo Switch consoles were sold last month than the same month last year.

It may be clear that the lockdowns are also a reason that many people start gaming, but Nintendo has been doing very good business since the launch of the Switch. According to rumors, Nintendo wants to maintain this momentum by launching a Pro version of the Nintendo Switch.

In any case, we are curious whether the arrival of the new consoles can do something to this momentum from Nintendo. How do you think Nintendo can best extend this success? Let us know in the comments!
