A few days ago, foreign portals VGC and Eurogamer reported that the successor to the popular Nintendo Switch handheld console will arrive next year, specifically in the second half. But now the British Startmenu server is coming with a slightly dubious claim whose essential subject is belief that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be announced as early as this month.
Startmenu se refers to its source, who is in contact with several development studios. According to him, the next Nintendo handheld will be presented at the event Gamescomwhich will take place from 23 to 27 August.

The fact is that, according to the more reliable sources mentioned, they have key partners with Nintendo already available devkits. However, an announcement this early wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense given the alleged release time, and Nintendo could hurt in Christmas sales.
In June, the company presented a number of new game titlesincluding the expected Super Mario Bros. Wonderwhich will be released on 10/20. A lot of players could therefore hold off on purchases precisely because of the announcement of the new generation of Switch.
The successor to the Nintendo Switch has mainly improve the hardware, namely the processor and graphics core. It is the performance that is holding back the current console from the Japanese video game giant and Zelda publisher. Although there have yet to be any specific leaks/claims from trusted sources targeting the hardware, personally, I would bet on the presence of a chip from AMD.
I would not be surprised if Nintendo followed in the footsteps of other manufacturers of handheld consoles (Valve, ASUS, AYANEO), because it is the APU from this American manufacturer that offers decent performance with low consumption. It would be nice to see a Ryzen Z1 Extreme-type chip under the hood, but there could theoretically be a brand new, custom-built APU in play as well.
The new Switch is also supposed to come with LCD display a increased storage capacity – the current 32 GB (for the OLED model it is 64 GB) is not really enough these days.
What do you expect from the successor to the successful Nintendo Switch?
