If any gaming company should really take a very close look at their own procedures and security processes, it’s clearly Nintendo. Regardless of its great reputation with gamers and a portfolio of fantastic games, lately the famous Japanese company is becoming synonymous with leaks, and not just information. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom game, one of the most anticipated this year, was leaked on the Internet two weeks before its release. Recently, the case was repeated in connection with Super Mario Bros. Wonder, which was illegally available a week before its release. And now the same problem applies to the Super Mario RPG remake, again less than a week before its upcoming release.
[Super Mario RPG]
The game has leaked to the Internet.
It runs on the Unity engine (version 2021.3.15f1).
Nintendo’s internal codename for the game is “Stella”.

The leak was pointed out by a well-known insider, OatmealD ome, who included some technical information in his tweet. First of all, the game runs on the Unity engine, which is not so typical for Nintendo titles. The game data also revealed that internally the project was called Stella. And after speculation, it has also been confirmed that ArtePiazza is behind the remake of the original 1996 title. Although the name of this studio may not be very familiar to you at first glance, it is definitely worth remembering that they are experts in improved versions or remakes, which they have proven especially in connection with the Dragon Quest series. However, they also worked directly on some parts of the series, and in their portfolio they have, for example, the title Opoona.
As for the Super Mario RPG leak, as with the two cases mentioned at the beginning, some players are already playing the title using an emulator, and even a few streams appeared, but they were quickly canceled. However, the wave of spread will probably not be able to be stopped, and Nintendo must once again solve a rather serious problem. Of course, in the case of a remake of an almost 30-year-old game, it may not be so critical at first glance, but still, in principle, it is another failure that has no parallel in the ranks of such large companies and games of established brands in recent months or years.
On account of the game itself, or remake, we can remind you that the revelation took place this June through a Nintendo Direct broadcast, after which it subsequently became clear that the original designer Shigeru Miyamoto is not involved in the remake’s preparations. However, players could start to look forward to a remake that will bring new cutscenes, a reduced difficulty for those who want to mainly enjoy the story, or the ability to switch the soundtrack from modern to the original from the NES. It goes without saying that the graphics have been reworked, this time completely in 3D.
