Nintendo has announced an alarm clock with motion detection. The alarm clock plays game sounds when customers move and automatically detects if someone has gotten out of bed. The Sound Clock: Alarmo will also be released in the Benelux for an as yet unknown price.

The Alarmo has sounds from five games like Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 3, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing will be added later. Nintendo announced. The alarm clock will initially only be available to Switch Online subscribers and then go on general sale from mid-January next year.

The screen is operated by a button on top of the alarm clock. The alarm clock works offline, updates and online functions require an internet connection. The alarm clock also has sleep sounds to go to sleep.

The motion detection may work with radar on the 24GHz band. The American agency FCC recently agreed such a device from Nintendo. The Alarmo costs $99 in the US. The euro price has not been announced yet, but it usually comes to around 120 or 130 euros.
