But Nintendo can choose a day for its unexpected and at the same time long-awaited news. Japanese manufacturer after long speculations just introduced new Switch, the so-called OLED model. So no Switch Pro or Super Switch. It will go on sale on October 8 (the same day as Metroid Dread) for $ 350. The newest member of the Switch family has a 7 ”OLED display, a better stand, a dock with a LAN port, internal storage of 64 GB (the original was only 32 GB) and has improved audio.
The new seven-inch display promises better colors and contrast, while the wider stand finally promises greater stability compared to the original flimsy foot of the original. In addition, its tilt can be adjusted in various ways. The built-in LAN port on the dock is suitable at home if you are looking for a more stable connection than via Wi-Fi. Of course, one can appreciate the effect of better speakers with one’s own ears.
Like the original Switch, the novelty offers a handheld mode, tabletop mode and TV mode. Joy-Cony can of course be disconnected. These are made in white. But there will also be a classic combination of blue and red. Nintendo does not mention any performance upgrade that has long been speculated. Also, the screen resolution remains the same – 720p in handheld mode and 1080p in the TV dock.
The new model is a bit heavier than the first. The original Switch had a 6.2-inch display. Otherwise, most of the properties seem to remain the same. Battery life is again 4.5 to 9 hours depending on the software. The original Switch will remain on sale.
