According to a former Nintendo employee, the Japanese giant is supposed to be a workplace created for geniuses, which does not have a positive impact on the satisfaction of average employees with their tasks.

Nintendo consistently delivers high-quality games that are appreciated by both players and critics. These productions are often distinguished by their original mechanics.
So what comes from the extraordinary creativity among the titles created by the Kyoto giant? Probably because Japanese company is to be full of “geniuses and supermen”. At least that’s what former Nintendo employee Koichi Miura says.
Miura worked in a Japanese corporation from 2019 to 2023, helping to create games. He wrote about his time at Nintendo on his Twitter/X (translation via Eurogamer).
At the beginning, he noted that Nintendo is a great company, but he would not recommend it to others as a place of permanent employment. Miura described the company as “a paradise for geniuses,” adding that on the other hand the job was “hell for mediocre people.” – among which he included himself.
After some time, the man realized that in the long run this was not the environment for him. Fortunately, the time spent at the company was not a completely unsuccessful period for him, because the experience gained at Nintendo helped him gain self-confidence, which, in his opinion, turned out to be crucial for his further career.
A former employee of the Kyoto giant is now a freelance graphic designer who also works on YouTube.
Miura in an interview with the website Encount emphasized that he harbors no ill feelings towards Nintendo. Simply working in an environment of extremely talented people with constant ideas turned out to not be for him in the long run.
