Ninova: BSP changes leadership in Sofia and Burgas – 2024-02-26 06:52:06

The BSP wants the resignation of the government and “two-in-one” elections, party leader Kornelia Ninova said.

“The BSP has also made an assessment of the nine months of the government’s life. “Out of 80 laws, 11 have passed. This is the result of the government. We want resignation and elections 2 in 1. It is characterized by lack of morality, national betrayal, lobbying in favor of private interests, legalization of corruption. The government has two programs – an official one and a fake one,” she believes.

According to her, the goals in the official program are Schengen, the Recovery Plan, the Eurozone, rules for financing projects in municipalities, inflation, which has not been reduced. None of them have been fulfilled, Ninova added. According to her, there is nothing in the unofficial program to fight corruption. The judicial reform is also in the direction of mastering the prosecutor’s office, the leader of the BSP pointed out.

“We made decisions for a full cycle of elections in Sofia and Burgas. We had to make this decision due to non-implementation by the city leadership of decisions of the national leadership. We are not excluding anyone, the socialists are now deciding,” said Ninova after the party’s National Council.

The BSP leader said that within 2 months, the full cycle of elections should be held, in which 24 district chairmen and city leaders will have to be elected. “We have formed a working group to deal with the elections, and its chairman will be Anna Yaneva – former chairman of the city council of the region. We expect the members of BSP Sofia to give their opinion”, said Ninova.

She also announced the results of the voting. “5 votes “against”, 4 “abstentions”, 86 votes “for” to vote for removing confidence from the leadership of the local structure in Sofia. “We are principled and consistent – it was established that the BSP – Sofia does not implement our decisions”, commented the leader of the BSP.

Ninova also commented on the words of the previous chairman of the BSP – Sofia Ivan Takov, who earlier in the day said that the National Assembly of the BSP meets without a quorum and its decisions are not legitimate, saying that there was a lady at the forum who three times spoke, and finally stated: “I was not present here and I did not participate”.

“That says enough. This is proof that there are people from the BSP who are not satisfied with the results, but our meeting was held according to all the rules”, said Ninova.

We remind you that the councilors from the BSP in Sofia supported the candidacy of Tsvetomir Petrov for the chairman of the SOS, instead of raising and supporting their own candidate, as was put down by the party. The reason for the loss of trust on the part of the party leadership was that those who supported the new SOS chairman “no longer represent the party”.

Ninova revealed that a draft of a European platform for the elections was also adopted at the plenum. It will be supplemented and discussed in the party. We support Nikola Schmidt as the general candidate of the socialists for the chairman of the EC. Christian Vigenin from his said that unanimous decision-making in the EU should remain in force, especially for extremely sensitive issues.

“We are against closing the thermal power plant until replacement nuclear power plants are built. The development of hydropower plants should be accelerated. Coal areas may become tax-reduced economic zones. We want special protection for farmers because of the effects of the war. It is necessary to create a health union in health care. We are proposing a European Agency for the Development and Management of Artificial Intelligence,” he summarized.
