Ninja Iden’s father, Tomonobu Itagaki, establishes a new studio

Tomonobu Itagaki, the developer of the series “Ninja Gaiden” and “Dead or Alive,” opens a new studio.

On the 16th, Itagaki commented on his current situation on Facebook. He has been nurturing backwards for the past four years, and he announced that he has established a new development studio named Itagaki Games in order to create a game again. The content was originally scheduled to be published in an interview with Bloomberg on the 4th, but it was released directly by Itagaki as it was not included due to the number of characters.

In an interview with Bloomberg, a special feature of game developers for Xbox, Itagaki announced the establishment of his studio, followed by the collaboration process with Microsoft and the secret story of the development of’DOA3′ released exclusively for Xbox. When asked if there is a plan to enter a studio under Microsoft’s subsidiary, he replied, “I know that Microsoft is aggressively investing,” and “if an offer comes to me, it would be an honor.” Itagaki Games did not disclose details.

Itagaki, who developed “Ninja Gaiden” and “Dead or Alive” series during his tenure at Techmo, founded Valhalla Studios after leaving Tekmo in 2009, and launched “Devil’s Third” in 2015. In 2017, he left Valhalla Studios, saying that he would contribute to the industry by conveying his know-how not only to himself and the company, but also to young developers and studios around the world. Four years later, in 2021, he returned to the game industry by establishing Itagaki Games.
