A 19-year-old man has been jailed for eighteen years because he ordered the liquidation of another person. He was only 17 years old when he called in the hitmen. A 56-year-old man was killed during the liquidation in Amstelveen in 2021.
The verdict took place behind closed doors because the suspect was still a minor when the liquidation took place. The court ruled that it was a “carefully planned liquidation”. The 19-year-old will therefore be tried under adult criminal law.
“The man prepared the murder and played a leadership role by inciting others to commit the murder. He has not been open about his actions. After provoking the murder, he continued to commit serious criminal offenses. The police tracked down the client via the telephone of one of the executors. He had sent instructions on how to commit the murder, from retrieving a weapon to shooting the victim, the prosecutor’s office previously said.
Seven bullets
The victim was shot in December 2021 on Wieringerstraat in Amstelveen. He died in hospital. It concerns a man from the criminal environment. At least seven shots were fired during the shooting, with one of the bullets fired towards a playing field where children were playing, the regional broadcaster writes. NH.
One of the perpetrators of the murder was 16 years old at the time. He was sentenced a year ago to two years of youth detention and youth TBS. The other perpetrator received an 18-year prison sentence.
