A nine-year-old boy threatened a six-year-old child with a knife on a playground in The Hague on Wednesday. Officers arrived quickly and seized the weapon. The six-year-old boy was unharmed.
The police and the mother of the nine-year-old boy “spoke well to the child”, the police write on Facebook on Friday.
Because he is under twelve, he cannot be prosecuted. Police say the incident has been registered and the child has her attention. Not something to be proud of at that age.
The police have published a photo of the knife with the message. It is a knife with a curved blade the size of a hand. Police are asking parents to keep an eye on their children and to check bags and pockets before playing outside.
