During the past day, 6734 Covid-19 examinations were performed in Latvia and 455 new cases of infection were registered, according to the data compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

The proportion of positive cases compared to the tested ones was 6.8%. A total of 9836 persons became ill in Latvia.
Nine Covid-19-infected individuals died on Thursday, the highest number in a single day. One deceased person was in the age group from 45 to 50 years, three – in the group from 65 to 75 years, two – from 75 to 85 years and three – in the group from 85 to 95 years.
39 new patients with Covid-19 have been hospitalized in the last day, according to the National Health Service. At present, a total of 318 people are being treated in hospitals, which is six more than the day before. Among the patients are 305 with moderate disease and 13 with severe disease. During the last day, 25 Covid-19 patients were discharged from the hospital – a total of 726.
In Lithuania, nine people died of Covid-19 last day and 2,066 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed. In Estonia, 259 new cases of infection were registered on Thursday.
