Nine people caught CO in Willebroek, no one in danger

This morning the police of the Rivierland zone received a report of CO poisoning in a house in the Appeldonkstraat. The parents had taken a child to the hospital because it felt unwell. It turned out to be CO poisoning. The medical services and the police then went to the house. The six children who were still at home were taken to the hospital for a check-up.

No one is in danger. The father, mother and child will be treated in the oxygen tank until tonight. The rest of the family will also remain in the hospital until then, everyone is conscious.

Network manager Fluvius has examined the installation for hot water and gas in the home and found a defect there. The installation is disconnected from the grid. If the family is allowed to leave the hospital tonight, they will be taken care of in an emergency house of the municipality while waiting for the recovery.
