Molde municipality reports this in an update their websites Saturday night.

During Friday and Saturday, the municipality has been notified of nine cases of infection. Most are children, adolescents or young adults, and they are linked to two ongoing outbreaks in the municipality. Infection tracking is ongoing, the municipality writes.

In Nordbyen kindergarten, one child has been confirmed infected.

At Molde upper secondary school, two students have been confirmed infected.

– The students who go to the same class, as well as other close contacts, will be tested on Monday. According to new national rules, students in the same class as the infected do not need to be quarantined. This presupposes that they are tested and that they have no symptoms of illness, the municipality writes.

Molde upper secondary school writes on their websites that the students must follow up on information about what is happening with the teaching at Itslearning, and that parents with questions should contact the contact teacher for their youth.

New rules for close contacts

– Molde municipality has now switched to notifying only the household members of the infected person. It is the infected person himself, parents, school, kindergarten (or others by further agreement) who must notify other close contacts, the municipality writes.

Close contacts who are fully vaccinated do not need to be quarantined. Close contacts who have been vaccinated with a dose must be tested between days three and seven, but they do not need to be quarantined if it is more than three weeks since the vaccine dose was set.

– But if you are close contact and get symptoms of illness, you must immediately be quarantined and tested as soon as possible, says municipal chief physician Cato Innerdal. It applies to everyone, regardless of whether you have been vaccinated or not.

He also reminds that even if you are exempt from the quarantine obligation, you should as far as possible avoid close contact with others within a week from the day you may have been exposed to infection.

– This means, for example, that you must keep a good distance from any others you work with, says the municipal chief.

Molde municipality now has 53 registered cases of corona in August. This is the highest number of infections in a month since the pandemic started in March last year.
