List of Animals Born Without Eyes
Here are nine animals born without eyes. Most of them live in the dark so that the function of the eyes is not really needed.
1. Texas Salamander
This Texas lizard has a pinkish white color and has two black spots on its head that look like eyes. Despite having no eyes, this lizard can survive in complete darkness according to AZ Animals.
This water-dwelling reptile is able to detect approaching enemies by feeling changes in water pressure.
2. Freshwater Hydra
This microscopic animal has tentacles like those in saltwater. What differentiates the two species of hydra is the absence of eyes, brain, and muscles in freshwater hydras.
But biologists are fascinated by the never-aging ability of the hydra to regenerate. They always renew themselves without limit and will regenerate damaged tissue.
3. Widemouth Blindcat
This catfish species lives in North America, the characteristic of this animal is its white color, with a body shape like a catfish without eyes. This fish has a large nose and a wide mouth.
