Ridwan Mubarun, Head of BPBD Surabaya City, said that nine children were victims in the incident when the waterpark Kenjeran Surabaya swimming pool slide collapsed, Saturday (7/5/2022).
“All victims in the front area of the Waterpark have received treatment. A total of nine children,” said Ridwan via text message.
In detail, one child indicated a brain injury, has been taken to the Regional General Hospital Dr. Mohamad Soewandhie used a local resident’s car. Then three children indicated that they had broken bones in their hands and feet, they were taken to the same hospital using the PMI ambulance and the Puskesmas. “The rest, five children suffered minor injuries and were in shock,” said Ridwan.
Meanwhile, Adhitya, an employee of Kenjeran Park, said that immediately after the incident all victims were evacuated away from the scene. “We provide medical treatment while waiting for the ambulance to arrive,” he said.
According to Adhitya, most of the victims were residents of the city of Surabaya. There are also those from outside the city of Surabaya.
Kenpark Surabaya closed the Waterpark to make it easier for the police to conduct crime scene investigations.(iss)
