A queue formed on the E6 after nine cars were involved in a chain collision on Romerike on Sunday afternoon.
Operations director Terje Barstad in the Eastern Police Precinct tells VG that no one is seriously injured. Eight people were taken to the emergency room for tests.
“Traffic is flowing smoothly to the site,” Barstad told VG at around 4:40pm.
The collision occurred in the southbound lane between the Dal and Mogreina exits on Romerike. Traffic was initially in one lane.
– Traffic is chaotic. We get over something and hopefully we can clean it up before it’s too long. Then it will slowly but surely be released and resolved, Barstad said on Sunday.
According to police, the accident occurred when one of the cars slowed down due to the contrary sun.
– Car number two did not adjust its speed and collided with car number one from behind. Then the domino effect occurred, writes the police.
Six of the nine cars had to be salvaged, while three of them were able to continue, Vegtrafikksentralen told VG. So far they have not received a report that it was slippery on the road. At 2.50pm, the line stretches to Dal.
