Swedish TV, theater and film actress Nina Gunke has contracted Alzheimer’s.
The 66-year-old himself told that TV4’s Nyhetsmorgon Sunday.
Gunke first began to notice that she forgot things about a year ago
– Everyone does, we say, but it happened more and more often.
The actress tells how she eventually could not remember lines anymore, and reproduces a special episode when she could not remember lines to “a small, small role”, and had to give up.
– Then I understood that this is something serious.
The tears come when she tells.
Gunke contacted a doctor, and underwent several rounds of diagnosis, before she finally received a phone call from the doctor.
– We would like you to book an hour, and that you take someone with you, they said. Then I realized it was Alzheimer’s.
Norwegian film
Nina Gunke has starred in a number of films and TV series, such as “Hedebyborna”, “Life in Fagervik”, “The murders in Fjällbacka: The Queen of Light” and “Before we die”.
In Norway, some will remember her from the role as the mother in the Wam and Vennerød film “Lakki” from 1992, where she played against, among others, Bjørn Skagestad, Jorunn Kjellsby and Henrik Mestad.
Uncertain future
Aftonbladet writes that the actress has received a lot of love after she appeared on TV 4. She greatly appreciates that.
– It has been absolutely incredible. There are so many people calling that I do not know at all, and many who have the same problem. It’s really great, I have to say, she tells the newspaper.
Alzheimer’s is an insidious disease, and it varies greatly how quickly the breakdown of the brain occurs.
– I do not know what will happen in the future. But in the end I know what will happen, says Nina Gunke to Aftonbladet.
The disease is fatal.
