Nina Caprez Returns to the Multipitch Game with a Repeat of “Yeah Man”

t place. I loved taking the lead on this project, accompanied by my au pair daughter Pauline on the wall, and supported by Lia and Jérémy at the truck.

Why did you choose to try “Yeah Man” in particular?
“Yeah Man” had been on my mind for a while and I really wanted to do some multipitch climbing again since the birth of my daughter. I had exchanged a lot with Cédric Lachat, who had done it three years ago, and he was really confident that I had the level. Since becoming a mother, I still climb a lot, but I’m less inclined to do projects where I’m far from my family. So I wanted to find something where my family could be present because it’s the most beautiful thing when after a long day on the wall, your loved ones are waiting for you at camp. Also, it’s not a massif that is very dangerous in terms of commitment (the route is super well equipped), nor for rockfall, etc., and I really wanted to bring Pauline into a route where she could fully express herself and learn a lot of things.

So, I asked myself if it was a good idea to take on this project. But in the end, my partner Jérémy pushed me a little, and I have to say that it went extremely well. As soon as we arrived in Jaun, I felt like I was in the right place. I loved taking the lead on this project, accompanied by my au pair daughter Pauline on the wall, and supported by Lia and Jérémy at the truck.

How did the au pair daughter Pauline contribute to the leadership of the project?

I had the opportunity to lead this project, with my au pair daughter Pauline accompanying me on the wall, while being supported by Lia and Jérémy at the truck.

When it came to choosing a route, I had “Yeah Man” in mind for a while. I had been longing to do some multipitch climbing again since my daughter was born. I had discussed this extensively with Cédric Lachat, who had successfully completed the route three years ago, and he was confident that I had the necessary skills. As a mother, I still engage in climbing activities, but I prefer projects that allow me to stay close to my family. Therefore, I wanted to find a route where my loved ones could be present. It’s truly a magnificent experience when, after a tiring day on the wall, your family awaits you at the camp. Moreover, the “Yeah Man” route is not highly risky in terms of commitment, as it is well-equipped, and it has low chances of rockfall. I was also excited to have Pauline join me on this route, where she could fully express herself and learn new things.
