The mother says that lawyers and others take care of the rest. Premakumari got the visa to visit her daughter last week. Samuel Jerome, a volunteer who got a visa, is also accompanying Premakumari. They have been living in a house near Kishkanambalam for eight years.
Premakumari’s journey is to meet the family of the killed Yemeni citizen. Nimishipriya can be freed only if this family allows it. The Supreme Court of Yemen upheld the trial court’s death sentence in the case of Nimishipriya and her friend’s murder. In this situation, the Delhi High Court allowed Premakumari’s request to meet the Yemeni citizen’s family.
“Visa procedures have been completed. Now you have to buy a ticket. A discussion is going on with a travel agency in Mumbai regarding which way to go there. Once it is decided, the travel date will be decided. Discussions are going on with the Indian Embassy and everyone. It is hoped that we will be able to leave within a week or two” – said lawyer Subhash Chandran, who approached the Delhi High Court on behalf of Premakumari. He said that he is trying to meet Nihimipriya first and then the aim is to meet the family of the Yemeni citizen.
