What about the first round?
In the first round of the 2022 presidential election in Nîmes, Jean-Luc Mélenchon came out on top. Behind Jean-Luc Mélenchon (28.7%) came Emmanuel Macron with 23.2% and Marine Le Pen collecting 20.1%. Abstention rose to 30.5% on April 10 in the town.
Looking back, five years earlier
Jean-Luc Mélenchon came out on top in the first round of the 2017 presidential election in Nîmes. In the second round of the election, Emmanuel Macron rose to the top in the town. Emmanuel Macron was credited with 65.3% of the vote there, against 66.1% nationally. Marine Le Pen won 34.7% of the vote (against 33.9% nationally). In the municipality, the abstention then amounted to 30%, against 25.4% at the national level.
