Brigitte Bourguignon, Minister Delegate, in charge of Autonomy, will travel this Monday, March 15 in the Gard to promote intergenerational activities and new health measures against Covid-19.
Brigitte Bourguignon will first visit the EHPAD “Les Terrasses” within the “Protestant health center” and which has vaccinated all of its residents. She will discuss with healthcare staff and residents the measures put in place to fight the Covid-19 epidemic. The opportunity also to highlight the experience of the integration of 15 places dedicated to people with disabilities. The establishment also offers an EHPAD service “outside the walls” allowing the elderly to live at home and benefit from personalized support.
The Minister will then go to the Nîmes Gerontological Center of the French Red Cross, which has undertaken to create an operational third-place in 2024. This structure will offer a space open to the public and a driving force for the associative and cultural life of the district where citizens will be able to meet, discuss and lead intergenerational activities. The Minister will then visit the participatory rehabilitation site for a Peugeot J9 van. This van is intended to transport furniture that will be installed outside the EHPADs of the Red Cross but also on the territory and which will create spaces of conviviality in the public space. The gerontological center also offers a “Vivre @ la maison” system. It allows everyone to age well at home by offering home services.
The Minister will finally go to the EHPAD Les Mazets de l’Argilier of the Partage et Vie Foundation. The establishment is developing measures to limit the impact of Covid-19 in nursing homes. In particular, it offers innovative hygiene tools thanks to the presence of a unit equipped with UVC. A time for discussion will follow between Brigitte Bourguignon, the nursing staff and the residents on the flexibility measures proposed by the establishment. The Partage et Vie Foundation will then present to the Minister its measures to promote intergenerational ties. The Foundation will discuss its campaign offering 500 student jobs in EHPADs. It aims to meet the needs of two generations hard hit by the health crisis.
