Nîmes Métropole maintains dialogue with entrepreneurs in its areas of activity

Nîmes Métropole regularly exchanges, during informal breakfasts, entrepreneurs, members and presidents of associations from three zones of economic activity (ZAE). The objective is “to exchange with the executive of the agglomeration, to present the team and the missions of the directorate of economic development”, indicates Franck Proust, LR president of Nîmes Métropole. Among the topics addressed during the last breakfast, on 22 September at Ville Active, in the presence of 50 companies, the energy crisis that is affecting communities and companies. In this regard, Nîmes Métropole recalled its policy of renewal of the public lighting park with LEDs, implemented since 2019. “In addition to the low energy consumption of LEDs, lighting is also reduced by 50% between 22:00. in the morning for 83% of the park, respecting the professional activities of the companies present in the Ville Active, Saint-Césaire and Euro 2000 areas of activity “, explains the agglomeration.

We recall that Ville Active celebrated its 30th anniversary in May.

1.28 million euros invested

This event is an opportunity for Nîmes Métropole to remember the investments made: cleaning, green spaces, lighting … In total, Nîmes Métropole invested 1.28 million euros in these three ZAE, between 2021 and 2022. L agglomeration invested 676,000 euros in Saint-Césaire, 335,000 euros in Ville Active and 270,000 euros at 2000 euros. Projects presented by the inter-municipal economic development department: road repairs in Saint-Césaire, redevelopment of the ZAE in Ville Active, redevelopment and studio Euro 2000 Porte Sud project.

“The dynamism and vitality of our areas of activity are one of the strategic axes of our community”, says Franck Proust together with Frédéric Touzellier, first vice president delegated for regional planning, Olivier Fabregoul, vice president delegated for economic development, and Jean-Christophe Grégoire , vice president of business park development.

Since the transfer of power by the state in 2018, Nîmes Métropole has managed 21 zones of economic activity: public lighting, street furniture, signage, roads, green spaces, dry (digital fiber, lighting) and wet (drinking water, waste … .). The local authority is responsible for the construction, development and maintenance, directly or through a delegate, of the ZAEs.
