Better in the game, but inefficient time, the DFCO totally changed the game in the last quarter of an hour, obtaining its second success of the season! A great victory to end 2020 on a high note and to attack 2021 in better shape.
To conclude a 2020 year to be forgotten on many points, the calendar proposed a trip to Costières for a bottom-of-the-table duel. Obviously an appointment not to be missed, with the objective of not being left behind.
The start of the match, on a wet lawn and in the rain, is balanced and without really an observation round. Very quickly, we realize that the speed of Mama Baldé can constitute an interesting vein to exploit. On a good serve in the back of the defense of Bersant Celina, Mama Baldé sees her center pushed back on Celina whose half-volley shot goes above (8 ‘). A strong point in the Gard followed, with many crosses in the area, constantly pushed back by an attentive Dijon rearguard. The first big heatstroke occurs shortly before the quarter of an hour of play when Ferhat sends a perfect cross to Ripart, so the volley goes just above (13 ‘). Mama Baldé is there to remind the opposing defense that the danger is omnipresent. The latter collapsed in the area, but the referee felt that he had simulated … (15 ‘)
The DFCO is in his game, but realizes some avoidable ball losses preventing him from enjoying real good shots when the opposing defense is placed high. A slightly faster service from Frédéric Sammaritano could have allowed Bersant Celina to get to goal without being in an offside position (22 ‘). Each team has possibilities, like Nîmes with this off target shot from Aribi (27 ‘), but it is the DFCO who will prove to be the most dangerous. After half an hour of play, Sacha Boey finds Glody Ngonda on the opposite side. His center in instantaneous withdrawal is perfect, but Bersant Celina takes away too much his shot that Reynet touches with his fingertips (30 ‘). The referees do not see it, there was a corner … As often in these cases, the sanction is immediate … On the action which follows, after a surplus on the right side, a center behind Duljevic finds Ahlinvi who scores point blank (1-0, 31’). Infuriating. Bruno Ecuele Manga will have the opportunity to equalize on a cross from Frédéric Sammaritano, but he is embarrassed at the time of his volley, it is not on target (38 ‘). The DFCO will finish this first act well, with a last cross from Sacha Boey that Junior Dina Ebimbe saw slip by under his nose (45 ‘).
Dijon’s intentions are good at the start of the second half. Mama Baldé sees a half-volley blocked in extremis (47 ‘), then in a duel in the area, sees Reynet wiping his crampons (involuntarily) on his knee. There would have been a penalty, but an offside is signaled … Certainly, success is not at the rendezvous … Following a very good combination with Bersant Celina, Junior Dina Ebimbe overflows and addresses a good cross for Mama Baldé, a little short to push the ball to the bottom (54 ‘). He was again flagged offside. Nîmes will not signal itself offensively, except for this badly negotiated counter, but all the same concluded with a strike from Ripart countered in extremis by Bruno Ecuele Manga (56 ‘). The DFCO dominates but still too sterile and the minutes tick by.
Finally, everything will switch in favor of the DFCO in the space of 3 to 4 minutes! First with the equalizer signed Moussa Konaté, from the head to the reception of a center of Junior Dina Ebimbe (1-1, 75’). Reynet can only deflect the ball into his right window. In the process, Miguel realizes a slipped tackle from behind, very dangerous on Mama Baldé, it is a red card (76 ‘). And it’s not over ! On a deviation from Alex Dobre in the area, Moussa Konaté is too short, but it is Mama Baldé who follows to deceive Baptiste Reynet (1-2, 77’) !
Obviously, the Nîmes are trying to take the game in hand and push to snatch the point of the draw. But it is still the men of David Linarès who create the best opportunities. Alex Dobre is thus quite ready to put his family to safety on a half-volley, but he is countered at the last moment (86 ‘). Finally, it is Moussa Konaté who will don the liberator costume! On a perfect serve from Bersant Celina, he crucifies Reynet in the box (1-3, 94’).
Dijon freed! Before the holidays, the DFCO offered itself a second deserved success, which allows it to leave the last place and especially to stay in touch with the standings. Nîmes, DFCO and FC Lorient are tied on points (12). Resumption of training on December 31 with the desire to continue! In the meantime, let’s savor this great success!
