“We do not accept any kind of bargain, we want respect for our sovereign rights,” said the president of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, after the military parade in Thessaloniki.
The entire statement of Mr. Androulakis is as follows:
“In the mountains of Pindos, glorious pages of our modern history were written.
Our people with few means, but with the weapon of national unity, defeated a stronger opponent.
That is why, 84 years later, we honor the heroes, who gave everything on the front line of the battle for the freedom of our country, achieving a very great victory.
However, today we have a duty as a country to send a clear message to those who consult as revisionists of History in our national interests.
We do not accept any kind of haggling.
We want respect for our sovereign rights.
So, the only thing we have to share with our neighbors is a common understanding of respect for international law and for this to be the basis of the prosperity and progress of all the peoples of the wider region.”
