Nikon Indonesia Close

KOMPAS.com – PT. Nikon Indonesia announced the closure of its operations in Indonesia starting October 22, 2020. The news was conveyed through the official Instagram account Nikon Indonesia on Wednesday (21/10/2020).

“After nearly 8 years of Nikon Indonesia’s journey, we inform you that today, October 21, 2020 is the last day of the Imaging Division of PT. Nikon Indonesia operates in Indonesia,” wrote Nikon Indonesia through captions. (caption) in his latest upload.

In the same announcement, it was also stated that all sales, marketing and service activities were handed over to PT Alta Nikindo as the official distributor in Indonesia.

The reasons for the closure of Nikon’s operations in Indonesia were not explained.

KompasTekno has contacted Nikon Indonesia for information. However, until this news was broadcast, there was no response from Nikon Indonesia.

Several Indonesian professional photographers who became Nikon Official Photographers also uploaded their farewell messages for the closing of Nikon Indonesia. One of them is Didiet Maulana.

“Honestly, this post is very sad, here I learn the meaning of how a brand can take heart,” wrote Didiet in his caption.

Another photographer, Christina Tan, also shared a similar statement.

“It is an honor to be part of the @nikonindonesia extended family. At Nikon, we do not only work together as professionals, but as a family,” Christina wrote in her caption.
