Nikolina Angelkovawho was an MP from GERB and Minister of Tourism in the last two governments of Boyko Borisov, distanced herself from the police-political scandal surrounding the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zhivko Kotsev.
A day ago, photos showing Kotsev and the accused together with the head of customs Stefan Dimitrov in a joint company were leaked by the prosecutor’s office and the services. Two of which show how Kotsev is with Nikolina Angelkova in a car at the airport and shows an expensive watch on his wrist.
“I have known Mr. Zhivko Kotsev for less than a year. During this short period we have seen each other both at public events and on occasions. I have never been interested and do not know details about his work. I am sorry that my name is involved in this story with a political and MIA flavor. I emphasize that I have no information about the activities of people associated with Mr. Kotsev”Angelkova wrote on her Facebook page.
“My work is mainly abroad, and in Bulgaria I do not carry out any professional activities related to administration and institutions, so as not to create a background and speculations due to my biography in the executive power and politics. I have nothing to hide, but I refuse to enter into political intrigue and for my name to be used by political opponents in any interpretive context. I will assist the competent authorities with the truth if requested.”adds Angelkova.
Earlier, the resigned Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov commented that she was present when Zhivko Kotsev received the “expensive” watch that the prosecution reported.
As Mediapool reported last month, Nikolina Angelkova is an investment advisor at the Ministry of Investments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Since November 17, Angelkova has been included in the board of directors of the company “Terra Way Investment Group”, whose actual owner, according to the Commercial Register, is “Terra Way Holding Limited”, registered in Nicosia. The board of directors is headed by the former executive director of “Lukoil” Valentin Zlatev.
