Food for the needy because of the pandemic in the yard of the lever school / children bake gardeners.
. On St. Nicholas Day, the Thermomix Group Lrrach and the team from the Rosengarten restaurant serve a free meal for the homeless and the needy. This year, due to the pandemic, the Nikolausessen takes place in the school yard of the Hebelschule. The Grttimann baking for children will take place on two dates this year (November 30th and December 7th).
For the third time, Michael Wegner, head of the Thermomix group Lrrach, is organizing a Santa Claus dinner on December 6th together with Georg and Fritz Leisinger from the Rosengarten restaurant. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the homeless and the needy are invited to enjoy a good meal for lunch. “We want you to feel comfortable with us on this day,” says Michael Wegner. Because of the pandemic, this year the meal will not take place in the guild cellar, but in the school yard of the Hebelschule. The open outdoor area should be roofed over with pavilions so that hygiene and distance rules can be observed. The guests are catered for by the staff of the Rosengarten restaurant and members of the Thermomix group Lrrach.
The campaign is supported by numerous sponsors: the company Inter Food, Bckerei Paul, Brauerei Lasser, fruit and vegetable grocer Willy Giesin, the printing and media company Uehlin and the Allianz insurance company Veit Vogel. The Fools Guild and the Lever School are also important supporters, as they make the rooms available for the event. “The meal is cooked in the rose garden the day before; we have planned for around 200 people,” explains Georg Leisinger. In addition to the homeless and the needy, everyone else is cordially invited to take part in the meal – in exchange for a donation. “We will continue to use the donations for a good cause”, explains Michael Wegner.
Another special offer this year is Grttimann baking for children from the age of five. “We want to bring tradition back to the children,” says Michael Wegner. That is why the Rosengarten restaurant bakes with the children on two Mondays and talks about regional tradition, and there are also little St. Nicholas packages. Because of the pandemic, this campaign is also limited; 30 children are allowed to participate per day.
