According to the vice-mayor of Nikolaev Vitaly Lukov, due to the political crisis, the city authorities had to make a short pause in the purchase of Belarusian trolleybuses.
“So we now have a short pause, because even our European partners have now suspended the signing of contracts for the production of trolleybuses for Nikolaev,” Lukov said.
In particular, the official said that today the best option for the city would be to take a temporary break to move on, however, the purchase of trolleybuses is a “life buoy” for the city’s transport structure.
“Because if we have 50 trolleybuses now and we will have 50 more trolleybuses, then this is twice as much and this is a real fight against low-quality minibuses that have flooded the city center,” said the vice mayor of Nikolaev.
