Nikola Pasic had not scored for Luleå before the meeting with Modo.
Then he borrowed Linus Omark’s club – and struck straight away.
– It worked quite well so far, he said in the break to the third period.
Unfortunately it stopped working after that.
At least for the team.
Modo took the match to extra time and in it Riley Woods became the hero with his 4–3 goal.
– Good teams find ways to win, says the Canadian in TV4 Play.
The successful loan
But before that, Nikola Pasic was most fortunate.
With a 0-2 deficit after the first, the 23-year-old stepped into the action.
First he played Oscar Eklind for the team’s first goal, and for the next the duo did the reverse.
The goal was Pasic’s first for Luleå since he joined before the season.
– Incredibly nice, he says in TV4 Play.
And the score was broken with the help of Omark’s all-white club – which the 23-year-old had his eyes on for a while.
– I guess I wanted it when it came out and then the materials said no. But now Omark said I could test it, and it went well, he says.
”Tuff kamp”
But even though Jonas Berglund completed the turnaround shortly afterwards, it was the away team who got the last word.
– It was a tough fight today. We got sloppy in the second period, but when we stick to the plan and do what we do best, we can win games, says match winner Riley Woods.
Next, Modo takes on Rögle on home ice.
For Luleå, it is the fourth loss in the last five games. The next chance to break the trend is against Timrå.
