Radio host Niko Saarinen37, says that he will be absent from NRJ’s morning broadcasts for the fall. Saarinen tells about it in the Instagram stories he published on Friday morning.
– Now autumn is elsewhere and after autumn I will return to NRJ Aamuu again, Saarinen says in the stories section of his Instagram account. Stories can be viewed for 24 hours after publication.
Contacted by Iltalehti, Saarinen says that he will return to radio later this year.
Saarinen says that the autumn project is related to television, but does not reveal it in more detail. He hints that it is something no one would believe.
– It is now the wildest bet that I would be involved in some reality TV format, says Saarinen.
Saarinen believes that hints about his new project will be received in the near future.

Saarinen has known about his upcoming project and his break from radio work since March.
– It was an easy decision, but this is a tough one. However, radio is my main job and I would not like to be away from it. Now, however, there is no other option, Saarinen explains.
Saarinen says that he prepared all summer for the fact that September 6 would be his last day on the radio for the time being. However, the last shipment turned out to be tougher than he expected.
– Yes, I did cry. I’m sure I’ll feel better on Monday, but now it’s a bit sad, although this is not final and we’ll know when I’ll be back on the radio. This is not a termination decision.
In addition to his radio work, Saarinen hosts the Nikotellen podcast and has an influence on social media. Saarinen says that the podcast episodes have been recorded in advance for the fall. Social media channels are also updated normally.
– My life doesn’t stop now, it just leaves the morning radio, says Saarinen.
Niko Saarinen was originally known from television. Saarinen became public in 2008, when he participated Big Brother to Finland. Later, he has participated in, among other things, reality TV programs Stars of the jungle, Farm Finland, Survivors Finland and Sometähti’s Single Life.
Niko Saarinen was awarded radio presenter of the year at the Radio Gala in April. NRJ Aamu was awarded as radio program of the year.
